On March 3rd and 4th of 2006, our prayers were answered when our newly formed evangelism team held activities in two Q’eqchi’ speaking villages. Our ministry has been called to carry the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to the Guatemalan people by joining with them to reach their own people.
The name of the team is “Aj Yehol Resil Li Jesucristo” or “The Messengers of the News of Jesus”. Local Christian leaders, with evangelism experience, were chosen to serve on this team and several members are fluent Q’eqchi’ speakers. The team was organized to serve two different purposes. One part of the team is prepared to reach new converts and the other part will follow up with these and other new believers.
With the generous donations, from our In His Steps fundraising efforts in 2005, we were able to purchase a generator and other equipment. This equipment was used to show an evangelistic film that had been translated in their own native language of Q’eqchi’ and will be used in other remote villages throughout Coban and the state of Alta Verapaz.
The first night of our outreach was held in Campur and the second was in Sarachoch. Both services were very blessed and full of God’s presence. Many seeds were planted and people came forward for prayer. Please pray for our evangelism team as we continue to share the good news of Jesus.
